While most schools are preparing to close their doors for the summer holidays on Friday, Crowdy Head Public School will close its doors forever.
Despite a long community battle to keep the small school open, its eight students had their final classes today.
The Education Department says most will go to high school next year, while the remaining students have been enrolled in schools nearby.
Classroom furniture and resources are expected to be shared between nearby schools, including Harrington, Coopernook and Hannam Vale.
