DECISION ON NORTHERN GATEWAY LAND DEFERRED
Greater Taree City Council has deferred a decision on whether to re-zone land set aside for a major freight project in Cundletown.
If it’s give the go-ahead, the $40-million dollar Northern Gateway will be used as a hub for trucks transporting goods around the state – It’s also expected to create dozens of local jobs.
But before construction can start, the land needs to be rezoned.
Councillors have voted to defer their decision on the proposal until February, so further consultation can be carried out.
