A toddler will undergo surgery at John Hunter Hospital today, after she was bitten by a dog at Lake Macquarie.
The 2-year-old girl was with her parents in the backyard of a friend’s home at North Belmont when she was bitten at around six o’clock yesterday.
She suffered injuries to her eye, as well as cuts to her forehead and right arm.
Police say the dog has been secured and council rangers are assisting them with their inquiries.
