POLICE USE PEDAL POWER TO CAMPAIGN AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Police officers braved the sweltering heat and used pedal power to show their support for the annual White Ribbon campaign today.
The male-led initiative involves 16 days of activism to eliminate violence against women and children.

“Unfortunately, the incidence of domestic violence in Australia and particularly on the coast here is quite rampant.”
Riders cycled from Newcastle to Blacktown, stopping by Gosford for a quick time-out, before returning to the roads to highlight the growing campaign.

“Men of all colour and creed are standing up together united to say we’ve had enough as a society and women have the right to live free from violence and abuse.”
