Former Silverchair front man and Newcastle local, Daniel Johns, has today pleaded guilty to mid range drink driving in Newcastle Local Court.
Johns was driving his black Jaguar along Morgan Street at Merewether on October 28, when he was stopped by police just before 8pm.
He submitted to a breath test, before he was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station.
Johns recorded a reading of 0.126 and informed police he had consumed four large glasses of white wine between 4:20pm and 7:40pm.
Outside court, Johns told NBN News he regretted getting behind the wheel and was thankful no-one was hurt.
Magistrate Day ordered Johns to undertake the traffic offenders program.
His case has been adjourned until February 26.
