A petition to re-name Dyers Crossing Bridge near Nabiac after local woman Erica Gordon, will be presented to Taree Council on Wednesday night.
More than 200 people have signed the petition in support of the change.
Ms Gordon is a long-term resident and has been a tireless campaigner for the replacement of the existing timber bridge.
Federal and state MPs David Gillespie and Stephen Bromhead have both thrown their weight behind the proposal.
If endorsed by council, the bridge will be renamed when a multi-million dollar upgrade is completed next year.
