AGL MAINTAINS FRACKING IS SAFE AND GOING TO PLAN

Energy giant AGL has almost finished the controversial fracking process at its Gloucester coal seam gas project.

During a site tour for media today, the company maintained work is being carried out safely, and is going to plan.

  1. The people in Queensland have been overridden by this industry. There has been health reports about the people in Tara where I have been on a number of occasions. There is a boy up there with Toluene in his body as a result of coal seam gas, that was published in mainstream media. The Condamine River is leaking methane. The scientists from Southern Cross University went to Queensland with their equipment to discover that methane was leaking out everywhere. The QGC also built a reverse osmosis plant which is, in itself, an admission of a major clean-up of water problem. At this point in time nobody seems to know where the toxic residue from that plant is going. All the farmers that I met said that the mining companies were liars, I would not trust whatever they are saying. The environment does not feature in their money-making equation.
