There is growing concern about a lack of shade at Coffs Harbour’s new skate park.
The $1.5 million dollar facility opened earlier this year and has proved very popular, but some locals are complaining about the heat during the day.
Councillor John Arkan says there is a need for shade sails, but no funds have been allocated in the council budget.
“There are a number of grants around that you can apply for, now whether we get that ready for Christmas or not that’s a big call, but there are a number of avenues we’re exploring to get some sort of grant.”
The cost of shade sails is yet to be determined.
