Meanwhile, John Robertson has thrown his support
behind former Newcastle MP Jodi McKay, to be Labor’s candidate in the seat of Strathfield.
Mr Robertson wrote to the State Labor Party’s secretary, requesting the National Executive hold a ballot for the seat.
” Jodie McKay is someone who deserves to be in the New South Wales Parliament, for a whole number of reasons. We are five months out from a general election and that’s why I intervened and asked the national executive to put her in the seat.”
Ms Mckay lost the seat of Newcastle to Tim Owen in 2011.
