NEWCASTLE MAN RECOVERING WELL AFTER KEG EXPLOSION

A Newcastle man, who lost his left arm after a keg exploded at a local club, has thanked the community for its ongoing support.

Jye Parker spoke with NBN News this afternoon, saying he is in good spirits and is keen to move forward following the October 11 incident at Bar Beach Bowling Club.

The 23-year-old was helping a colleague in the cellar when a keg erupted, causing serious injuries to his chest and arm.

Jye is recovering well and was released from John Hunter Hospital yesterday.

A benefit night will be held later this month at Newcastle Museum to raise money for his recovery.
