KEMPSEY JAIL INMATE TREATED FOR SECOND DEGREE BURNS

An inmate from Kempsey jail has suffered burns to 35 per cent of his body after another inmate allegedly poured a bucket of boiling water over him, at around 12.30 on Monday afternoon.

The victim was rushed to Port Macquarie Base Hospital before being flown by helicopter to Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney where he is being treated in the Special Burns Unit.

Police are yet to lay any charges over the indecent.
