NSW CHS DOWN MAROONS TO CLAIM NATIONAL TITLE

New South Wales Combined High Schools – featuring five Central Coast players – has taken out the Australian Youth Touch Tournament.

Isabelle Kelly’s run from acting half led to a touchdown for Shannon Rose and a two-nil lead.

Queensland hit back with a cut out pass finding the mark, before Kirra Dib gave New South Wales some breathing space, with a superb solo effort.

Emma Sykes reduced the margin with a short side play, but the Blues responded with Taryn Love scoring a decisive touchdown.

Tamika Upton crossed for the maroons to set up a thrilling finish, but the Blues held on to win its first title since 2011 – four- three.
