After two years of construction work, the city’s light rail network has won a national accolade.
The project has claimed the highest award for sustainability, given by the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia.
“They have been an absolute leader in the context of infrastructure across Australia and this has been an exemplar for all projects or infrastructure across Australia.”

The project has provided four-million hours of employment, with most of the work undertaken by Gold Coast locals.
