It’s been a mixed weekend for the Newcastle Knights, with their minor premiership winning Under 20s side eliminated from the competition at the hands of the Warriors.
After trailing 13 nil at half time, the Knights got back within three, but the Warriors ran away with the game 23-16.
Meanwhile UK bound Josh Mantellato was the hero for the Knights NSW Cup side today.
The winger scored Newcastle’s first three tries in the grand final qualifier against the Illawarra Cutters, as the Knights ran away with the game 34-10.
They’ll now face Penrith in the decider next Sunday.
