Councillor David West has been elected as the Deputy Mayor at Taree Council for the next year.
He was elected last night and takes over from Councillor Robyn Jenkins who has served in the role for the past 12 months.
Councillor Kathryn Bell also nominated for the position, but was unsuccessful.
