A major hazard reduction burn will take place at Medowie tomorrow.
The National Parks and Wildlife Service is conducting the operation, which will focus on the Medowie State Conserveration Area, south of Old Swan Bay Road.
Hunter Coast Area Manager, Andrew Bond, says while effort will be made to minimise the impact of smoke, residents should still be prepared.
“Where possible, residents are advised to close all doors, windows and vents on their houses, keep pets inside and avoid sight seeing which can hinder fire crew operations on the day,” he said.
