DANGEROUS ACT FROM MAULES CREEK PROTESTERS
Police are investigating after protestors trespassed at Whitehaven Coal’s
Maules Creek mine site last week, cutting 187 down-lines attached to powerful explosives.
Police say they then attempted to fill the blast holes with dirt and rubble.
The New South Wales Minerals Council says the state Government must introduce tougher penalties for anyone illegally accessing mine sites, after the incident put lives at risk.
