GRAFTON BEARS AND DEMONS GREEN WIN THE HOCKEY

The Grafton City Bears won a cliff hanger men’s hockey grand-final against the Barbarians over the weekend.

The Barbarians landed the first blow with a goal midway through the first half .

But just before full time the Bears drew level with an equaliser and the game went into extra time.

Three minutes later, the Bears came up with the golden goal by Nathan Butterick to win the premiership.

In the women’s grand final, McAuley White’s hopes of winning four in a row were dashed by Demons Green, 2 goals to one.
