– The Defence Force and the Prime Minister have denied reports an Australian Air Force plane was shot at by Islamic State fighters – while dropping food and aid to people in Iraq. Defence chief Mark Binskin says the RAAF Hercules did not come under direct attack.
– A couple in Melbourne got a shock when a stolen tractor crashed through the wall of their bedroom in the middle of the night. They were taken to hospital to be treated for shock and minor cuts and bruising.
– Scientists in the UK have confirmed that eating fruit every day can reduce the risk of heart disease by up to 40 per cent. The Oxford University research also found an impact on blood pressure.
– And a Brisbane family has found a four metre carpet snake in their bedroom. The family said they’d seen the snake in their backyard before, but they just didn’t want it in the house.
