WEATHER UPDATE: HEAVY RAIN SWAMPS NSW COAST

Overnight totals around Kempsey and Coffs Harbour toppled the 100mm mark. The intense rain band continued on its path north today, pushing some of the totals around Coffs to 150mm. The rain has swamped Grafton and the Northern Rivers this afternoon.

Tomorrow the complex low will form into a single low pressure cell and move offshore generating a very large swell that will cause coastal erosion. Showers will continue but they will ease in the north.

The showers are likely to continue for the next few days in between Gosford and Taree as the dry weather returns elsewhere.
