VOLUNTEER CLOCKS UP 39 YEARS OF SERVICE AT MARINE RESCUE

A man who’s dedicated much of his life to helping others, has been recognised for his selfless work.

Robert Baker has been awarded a 35-year service medal, after clocking up 39-years of service with Marine Rescue.

“It was totally unexpected to receive it today, it satisfies all the years I’ve put in, it gives a sense of accomplishment and you feel good within yourself.”

Robert first joined Shoalhaven Marine Rescue in 1975.

He’s also served at the Central Coast and Crowdy-Harrington bases, working as a unit commander and training officer.
