There’s a new way to get a look at the largest known Red Bloodwood tree in the southern hemisphere.
Known as Old Bottle-butt, the huge tree is in the Burrawan State Forest at Wauchope.
A new viewing platform has been built around it, in the hope it’ll attract more tourists to the site.
“By having this viewing platform we’ll get visitors in there, it contributes to tourism and I think it also highlights the terrific way our forestry operations have been run.”
The tree is 200 years old, stands at 54-metres high and 16-metres in diameter.
