Maitland City Council is pressing ahead with its $6.7-million levee project to help transform the city centre.
Council will now begin the formal application process to acquire two buildings on High Street.
The land is crucial to stage two of the development, which will involve the construction of the River Link building.
It’s set to open views of the Hunter River from the mall.
