Construction of the $4 million Emu Crossing Bridge at Bundarra is underway.
The new bridge over the Gwydir River will replace the existing low-level emu crossing with a higher and wider structure.
It’s designed to cope with major flooding events and to accommodate freight movements.
It’s hoped the new bridge will be completed by June next year.
