Detectives have charged a brother from a religious order in relation to indecent assaults on a child in Maitland.
Police say the alleged offences took place between 1971 and 72.
Officers from Strike Force Georgiana travelled to Sydney yesterday, where a 66-year-old man was interviewed and charged.
