Construction will soon start on a new multi-million dollar aviation, fire and rescue station at Coffs Harbour Airport.
Airservices Australia says its $11.4-million dollar project is due to an increase in passenger numbers, after the airport saw more than 27,000 aircraft movements and 350,000 passengers last year.
The fire station and training facilities will aim to add a new level of specialist aviation fire protection at the airport.
The station is expected to be up and running early next year.
