PLAN TO LINK UMINA AND OCEAN BEACH SURF CLUBS

A plan to build a pedestrian link between Ocean Beach and Umina Beach is gaining momentum.

The Peninsula Chamber of Commerce says while it's an ambitious idea, it would make the area much more attractive to holidaymakers.

  1. totally not required.there already is a link between the surf clubs- it’s called the beach.
    keep our beach as natural as possible PLEASE.

  2. Considering the level of activity at the ICAC over the relationship of lobbyist and paid work I hope the media can cover off the ridiculous situation of a company which is paid to write master plans pushing for millions of dollars of rate payers money being spent to master plan!

    The people don’t want a walk way they have one already – the people who will make money by it do. The people want better policing and safety options around the existing surf clubs.

  3. Every time I pick up a local Central Coast newspaper there is a photograph of Matthew Wales publicity seeking, issuing press releases on behalf of the PCC. He is the President of the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and represents a handfull of business people who want to profit by changing a pristine beachfront. Gosford Council beaurocrats seem to be his lacky, or vice versa. Matthew Wales’ views do not represent the views of many Peninsula Residents. In reality he does not speak for the residents nor for Gosford Council. He is on yet another self serving agenda. Over commercialisation of the Peninsula is the destruction of the natural beauty of the area.

  4. The dune area of the beach is fragile and should not be interfered with at all, particularly for profit seeking businessmen. There is a cycle way already in The Esplanade, and numerous access points to the beach already existing. Matthew Wales will not be happy until this beachfront looks like concrete
