LAMPE TAKES HOME BYRON TRI FOR LENNOX

Lennox Head’s Joe Lampe has taken out the men’s division at this year’s Byron Bay Triathlon, coming in ahead of close mate, Giles Clayton.

The first female over the line today was Brisbane’s Sarah Crowley, in front of Paddington product, Emma Alcock.

Despite the odd rainshower, conditions along the course were good, although flat seas did make it difficult for some to find an easy ride into shore.

More than 1000 triathletes lined up for the 1.5 Kilometre swim, 40k bike ride and 10k run.

Today was the triathlon’s 18th year in Byron Bay.
