100 HOLE GOLF CHALLENGE

For some people, too much golf is never enough, but a group of players in Newcastle is attempting to complete 100 holes in 12 hours.

They’re golfers on a mission, to be exact, a fundraising drive for the Youth With a Mission outreach service.

They teed off at seven this morning, and needed to clear eight to 10 holes an hour.

The golfers are sponsored, aiming to raise $40,000 to renovate an old warehouse in Mayfield, to be used as a drop-in centre and covered skatepark.

  1. Hi Diana, Your crew was great. Thanks so much for sending them out to YWAM’s 100 Hole Golf Marathon fundraiser. We estimate having raised around $20,000 before expenses. It was a great day, Shortland Waters Golf Course served the running of the event very well. I am sure we will do it again, possibly annually as our first effort was so successful. This was the first time an event of this type has ever been run in Newcastle or the Hunter Valley.
We would love to have a copy of all the interviews and video footage they captured. Please advise me how we can obtain that. Thanks again. Thanks Again!

  2. Knowing the couple who put this Golf Match together I am not surprised. The Narvels are spending much of their time in service to others. They make things happen when no one else can. A joy just to see God’s work!

  3. The clip on YWAM’s first annual 100 Hole Golf Marathon was great!
Thanks for the publicity we look forward to next March when we will do it all again. Everyone had a great time. No one was injured or unusually sore. Anyone can do this!
