LIONS ROAR TO WIN BACK TO BACK NDCA TWENTY20 TITLES

In Newcastle District Cricket, Merewether has successfully defended its Twenty20 crown, easily outclassing Hawmicks in today’s final.
An impressive opening stand from Josh Geary and Simon Moore set the platform for Merewether.
As he’s done so many times, Moore played the full array of shots, smashing his way to 95 in the Lions total of 166.
In reply, Hamwicks looked on track early on, until Matt Webber was run out.
Adam Price tried to up the scoring but soon fell victim to a Dan Morton bullet.
Shane Hughes suffered the same fate when Geary was introduced into the attack.
Mark Cameron completed the demolition, snaring the wicket of Andrew Maher, as Merewether celebrated back to back titles.
