SENIORS TENNIS, A BIG HIT
September 10, 2012 at 5:43 pm
Vicky Allman from South West Rocks has taken out the ladies singles title at the Westport Seniors Tennis Tournament in Port Macquarie over the weekend.
“Some of our mates say we take it in turns, I might beat Les in one tournament, but he beats me the next – no one really knows who’s going to win.”
70 players aged 35 years and over competed in the round robin tournament – Organisers are now hoping to make it an annual event.
Cameron and Darcy later put aside their rivalry to team up in the doubles, using the tournament as preparation for next month’s over 65′s state finals.
They bowed out to Port Macquarie’s Steve Wilson and Dubbo’s Glen Armstrong.
