A 15-year-old girl was briefly held hostage during an armed robbery at a Hungry Jacks outlet in the Newcastle suburb of Jesmond last night.
Just before 6pm, a man entered the store and jumped the counter, before grabbing and threatening the teenage employee.
The man demanded cash from staff members and began backing out of the store with the 15-year-old, before releasing her and fleeing the scene.
He’s described as being aged in his late 20s, with a fair complexion, and was wearing black trackpants, a hooded jumper, bright blue shoes and a black beanie.
