MOTHER FINED FOR LEAVING CHILD IN CAR

A Hawk’s Nest mother has been fined $1,100 after leaving her son in a car while she played poker machines at a Hunter hotel.

Police say early last month, the 34-year-old left her son in the Tea Gardens Hotel carpark for two hours without food, water or heating.

She was fined in Raymond Terrace Court this afternoon.
