Newcastle Rugby League
Round 12
CESSNOCK 50 – PORT STEPHENS 6
WYONG 36 – LAKES 14
KURRI KURRI 28 – MAITLAND 26
Despite missing six of its Country rep stars, Cessnock has bounced back from its first loss in Newcastle rugby league by hammering the Sharks.
Wyong continued its resurgence, while Kurri beat the Pickers.
Coming off a frustrating loss to Souths, the Bulldogs were keen to show they’re still premiership contenders, Shannon Tanner finishing a sweeping backline move.
Steven Blakemore’s pass was as flat as they come as he set up captain Daniel Abraham to put Kurri further in front.
Starting in place of Jade Porter, Darcy Etrich gave the home side hope with this run, finished off by Glen Paton, but the Pickers still came up short.
