July 3, 2012 at 3:38 pm
Aboriginal communities from across the region, today joined together to compete in the Elders Olympics.
Getting into the spirit with music and dancing, teams participated in a series of activities – all hoping to walk away with the gold.
“We’re having great fun. It’s really good to see our brothers and sisters come to taree. Last year we won and we’ve bought it to here to Taree, it’s wonderful.”
The event marks the start of NAIDOC week celebrations in the Manning Valley.
