MAN SHOT IN NEWCASTLE HOME INVASION

A man is in hospital after being shot during a home invasion last night in Newcastle.
Late yesterday afternoon several people forced entry into the Tighes Hill home, assaulting two men, before leaving on a stolen motorcycle.
The 24-year-old man is being treated with gun shot wounds to the chest, while the 25-year-old sustained minor head injuries.
Forensic officers are examining the site.
