THE HUNTER TO HOST THE FIRST ASIA PACIFIC SPECIAL OLYMPICS

A $10-million windfall is headed Newcastle’s way, with news the city will host the first Asia Pacific Special Olympics.

The Hunter beat bids from cities in India and Malaysia for the event, which is expected to bring with it 5,000 overseas visitors.
