AUSTRALIAN SEA BIRD RESCUE GETS $5,000 BOOST

A five day charity walk has raised $5,000 for Australian Seabird Rescue.
Last month, 10 members from the Ballina Lions Club clocked more than 160 kilometres, walking around the Ballina CBD.
“It was easy and we enjoyed it too, lots of fun, lots of support from the public”
This weekend the proud walkers handed their earnings to the organisation.
The money will help improve facilities at the Ballina centre.
“We desperately need a new deep freezer for all the food we keep for the birds and turtles in care, so that’s going to help out a lot ”
