BROTHERS URGE OTHERS TO RECOGNISE TRAGIC TELL TALES
November 17, 2010 at 2:16 pm
Two Newcastle brothers, who’ve lost three family members under tragic circumstances, are telling their story in the hope of helping others deal with depression.
Ken and Geoff Cubbon have battled the black dog since their mother and sister were killed in a shocking car crash 13 years ago.
Another brother, Darren, also struggled with depression but lost his fight a fortnight ago, taking his own life.
If you need to talk about depression, suicide or other mental health issues, Lifeline’s 24-hour helpline is 13 11 14.
The SANE helpline also offers information on mental illness, support and referral.
And the national depression initiative, beyondblue, operates an extensive website.
