ETIHAD DOWN BUT NOT OUT
December 27, 2009 at 5:16 pm
In the Sydney to Hobart there’s some good news for the Etihad crew, following its withdrawal from the race, with plans afoot for another one.
Etihad is expected to set sail in the Pittwater to Coffs Harbour race on the second of January.
“We’ll have a couple of beers tonight and there’s a little bit of discussion around the camp that we might head back out next week for another race that heads up the coast. The guys just deserve to spend some time on the boat”, said Skipper Grant Wharington.
And with new and improved equipment, a race record could be on the cards.
“Just by looking at the computers. Just how much faster the boat is than it was previously and you know very very encouraging perfect data.”
