FOUR DEAD IN NARRABRI CRASH

The Newell Highway is closed in both directions following the deaths of three people in a multiple vehicle crash five kilometres south of Narrabri this morning.
About 10.30am, a Ford Falcon travelling north sideswiped a ute towing a caravan before crashing into a small 4WD, both of which were travelling in the opposite direction.
Three adult occupants of the Ford died at the scene, while a fourth adult died later in hospital.
A female occupant of the ute suffered serious injuries, while a male occupant suffered relatively minor injuries. Their caravan was extensively damaged.
Three people in the 4WD have suffered serious injuries and are currently being treated at the scene.
All those injured will be taken to Narrabri District Hospital.
Investigators from Barwon Local Area Command are at the scene and the Newell Highway will be closed for several hours.
Diversions are in place through Gunnedah and Boggabri
