POLICE PURSUIT ALONG NE HIGHWAY
June 10, 2009 at 6:30 pm
Four teenagers were arrested following a high-speed pursuit on the New England Highway today.
The chase began north of Armidale after the highway patrol spotted two stolen vehicles whose drivers were wanted for failing to pay for fuel.
The chase for one vehicle ended when two occupants fled on foot at Black Mountain,
while the second car was stopped only after police deployed tyre spikes.
Its driver turned into Stony Ridge Road, before the two occupants, aged 13 and 15, ran from the car and were arrested.
Police continued the search for the pair from the first vehicle.
Armidale police say they attended a lot of properties and set up a couple of perimetres.
Police later arrested the teenagers in another stolen vehicle south of Glen Innes
