GAV’S WEATHER – WET START TO THE WEEKEND

The low in the Bight is producing some welcome inland rain for NSW. Moisture content has increased with the cloud cover building over Queensland as the two troughs merge. The slow moving system will move into eastern NSW. There it will link up with the trough in the north and draw some tropical moisture southward. This will help feed the system as it passes delivering some widespread welcome inland . Fall across the NBN region will be patchy with the better fall along the coast and in the far north-west areas in between will be only receive small amounts of rain.

WEATHER: RAIN ON THE WAY

The low in the Bight is going to produce some welcome inland rain for NSW. Moisture content has increased, with the cloud cover building over QLD as well. There is more to come once it taps into the tropics tomorrow. Tomorrow’s synoptic chart reveals how things will play out. The slow moving system will move into central NSW. There it will link up with the trough in the north and begin to draw tropical moisture southward. This will help feed the system as it passes, delivering some widespread inland rain with heavy falls on the coast in the north.

GAV’S WEATHER – FINE AHEAD OF END OF WEEK RAIN

On the satellite there are two distinct weather features. The low in the Tasman and the low moving across SA. The low in the Bight is going to produce some welcome inland rain for eastern Australia building from Friday for the local region. This rain band will affect us on Saturday before clearing during Sunday. The one in the Tasman will continue to generate a moderate swell hitting the coast again tomorrow.

MOTHER’S DAY WEATHER FORECAST

An early morning walk or outdoor breakfast might be the best plan for Mother’s Day, with a wet day across our region tomorrow.   A low pressure trough in the east of the country is deepening and gaining moisture, so there’s a high chance of showers in the Hunter, Central Coast, and mid north coast, from late morning onwards. Heavy falls are also possible along the far north coast.   Only the North West might escape the rain, with a 50% chance of showers.

GAV’S WEATHER – COASTAL WEATHER DETERIORATING OVER THE WEEKEND

A trough over the east coast will begin to deepen tomorrow so we’ll see more cloud cover at times and showers will start to develop as we move towards Saturday evening. On Sunday the trough will deepen further producing widespread showers and rain periods affecting most of the coast east of the Divide, with some lighter isolated falls affecting the north-west. An ECL will form on Monday and the wet weather will move in as it moves off shore.

BURTON TOYOTA SURF REPORT

It was a great week of swell but over the weekend the oceans will settle down and the winds will be light and variable so try and keep away from the high tide. Next week another east coast low will form and another big week of waves will unfold for the Monday to Friday surf hounds.

WEATHER: COOL AUTUMN RUN

The low in the Tasman is going to generate a solid consistent swell that will continue on the east coast all week. It will remain chilly as the southerly winds continue to blow. It’ll be partly cloudy along the coast with a few showers. All fine inland.
