TERRENE ON TOP IN THE BIG APPLE

Central Coast lifeguard Terrene Black has taken out the Women’s Overall Sprint at the A-P-P World Tour SUP event in Long Beach, New York. Competitors struggled in the stormy conditions, but Black’s surf skills were clearly evident in the final – and while she thoroughly deserved the win – luck went her way in the sprint to the finish line. The surfing event is due to be held today in the Big Apple.

MARINERS SIGN STAR DUO

A month out from kick off, the Central Coast Mariners have added two stars to their roster. Striker Ross McCormack returns to the A-League on a one-season loan deal from Aston Villa. A proven marksman was priority number one for the yellow and navy…. And the Scottish International has a prolific record, including 14 goals in 17 appearances with Melbourne City. Attacking mid-fielder Tommy Oar also put pen to paper – the 26 year-old represented Australia at the 20-14 FIFA World Cup and had two stints in Brisbane. The pair will train with the squad for the first time next Tuesday.

NEWCASTLE JETS ADD MORE FIREPOWER UP FRONT

The Newcastle Jets have announced the signing of English-born striker, Kaine Sheppard, on a one-year contract. The 24-year-old has scored 20 goals in 26 appearances for Avondale in the Victorian NPL this season. Coach Ernie Merrick believes Sheppard is a clever player that reads the game well, makes great runs and has a strong physical presence.
