MARLINS FAIL TO REEL IN MACARTHUR

After a mid-week win over Macarthur, reigning State League Champions The Marlins faced The Orioles again over the weekend. The visitors immediately seizing control with a two-run lead. Jake Amos was in good form for the home side with three hits and one home run. Michael Campbell was also impressive – but the Central Coast couldn’t make it back to back victories, going down 10-nine. They’ll now host Ryde Hawks on Wednesday night at Watanobbi.

COKE MEMORIAL TO CROWN ANOTHER CHAMPION

Some of the biggest names in Central Coast surfing have taken out the Coke Memorial, including Ace Buchan and Matt Wilkinson. Tomorrow, another name will be added to the prestigious list, and it’s all for a great cause… with the proceeds going to the Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation.

NORTH SHELLY THROUGH TO GROMTAG FINAL

North Shelly Boardriders have advanced to the Australian Gromtag Final, following a second place in yesterday’s Northern Beaches qualifier. The team dominated the semi, then in the final Max Leonard gave his team a solid start, followed by Wade Clements, who looked sharp on his backhand. Two National Junior champions were part of the team Molly Picklum and Joel Vaughan. While Hughie Vaughan secured the result with his final power wave. They will now return to Curl Curl in Sydney in late November, for a chance to be crowned best junior team in the country. (No audio) (Image courtesy of Gromtag)
