NEW FACILITY TO LIFT SPORTING SPIRITS

A much welcomed upgrade for cricketers and AFL players is in the works at Fitzroy oval in Coffs Harbour. “What you’ll see is a new improved facility block, that has provisions for medical areas, umpires, improved canteen facilities and more importantly more space in the change areas.” Council is also taking expressions of interest for an aboriginal mural, to pay respects to the land. CRICKET PREMIER LEAGUE IN THE PIPELINE

Manning Cricket Association will meet tonight to gage the support of a premier league first grade competition next season. The plan would include teams from three associations, including Hastings and Macleay, who will also hold similar meetings later this month. “It’ll be a premier league so they’ll all be tied in together, you get the best of the best playing each other, there’s avenues for juniors something to aspire to there’s even avenues for businesses,” Mid North Coast Cricket Council president Gordon Cross said.
