TWO TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AFTER GOLD COAST UTE CRASH

Two men have been taken into custody after an allegedly stolen vehicle crashed on the Gold Coast. Police say that a ute was seen driving erratically at Burleigh Heads shortly before 10pm last night, before responding to reports that there had been a traffic crash at University Drive in Robina. Two men had fled the scene by the time police arrived, but were taken into custody a short time later. Both men were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

WOMAN STABBED IN ALLEGED GOLD COAST ALTERCATION

A 26-year-old man has been charged after a woman was injured by a sword in Southport overnight. Police say that around 11:30pm, a man and woman were allegedly involved in an altercation at a home on High Street, when the woman was struck with a sword. She was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital with a leg injury, she’s in a serious but stable condition. The man was arrested and charged with one count of wounding. He’s scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on February 6.

TWO OFFICERS ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED AT GOLD COAST PARTY

Four teenagers have been charged after two police officers were allegedly assaulted at Upper Coomera in the early hours of this morning. Around 1:15am, police responded to a noise complaint at a private residence on Meadow Way, where they found a large group of teenagers who had been attending a party. Two constables, a male and a female, attempted to move the group on, but it’s alleged the group became belligerent and surrounded the officers before assaulting them. The female constable was punched in the face and grabbed around the neck, while the male constable was also punched and kicked. The officers were treated at the scene for minor injuries. TWO MEN HOSPITALISED AFTER UNPROVOKED GOLD COAST ASSAULT

Two men have been assaulted – one knocked unconscious – during an unprovoked attack on the Gold Coast. Shortly after 3am, the men were among a group of friends on Archipelago Street at Pacific Pines, when two other men approached the group. Police say an unprovoked altercation broke out, resulting in the assault of two men. A 17-year-old man was knocked unconscious, and an 18-year-old man suffered facial injuries. Both were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital and are reportedly in a stable condition. Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident is urged to contact police.

GOLD COAST MAN STABBED WITH SCISSORS IN ALLEGED CONFRONTATION

A man will face a Gold Coast court after he allegedly stabbed another man with a pair of scissors overnight. Police say an altercation broke out between the two men, aged 35 and 49, just after midnight at a residence on Norman Street in Southport. The younger man, from Benowa, was allegedly stabbed with a pair of scissors and taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with injuries to his hands and forearms. A 49-year-old Surfers Paradise man has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm, and possession of dangerous drug.

RIDER CRITICAL AFTER HITTING GUARD RAIL AT CARRARA

A 38-year-old is in a critical condition at a Gold Coast hospital after a single vehicle motorcycle crash this morning. The accident happened just before 8am, when the rider lost control of his Black Honda on the Pacific Motorway at Carrara and hit a steel guard rail. The rider remains in a critical condition at Gold Coast University Hospital.

GOLD COAST RIDE SHARING DRIVER HELD UP AT KNIFE-POINT

A female ride sharing driver has been held up at knife point during a frightening ordeal on the Gold Coast. Police say the 39-year-old Carrara woman was sitting in her parked car on Marine Parade at Biggera Waters shortly before 9pm last night, when a masked man approached and entered the front passenger seat. Armed with a knife, he demanded the woman drive him to Harbour Town. He then forced the woman to stop the car on Morala Drive, where he handcuffed her to the steering wheel and robbed her of a small amount of cash The woman was released from the handcuffs, and they drove to a seafood shop on Frank Street, where he left the car. MAN WANTED OVER GOLD COAST ROAD RAGE INCIDENT

Gold Coast police are keen to speak to a man about a traffic incident involving two vehicles at Robina, just before 1.30pm on Wednesday this week. Following the alleged incident on Scottsdale Drive, police say a man has stepped out of one of the vehicles and attempted to grab the arm of the female driver of the other vehicle. The man has then broken her car key off in the ignition, before tossing the remaining keys into the bush. Police say he then got back into his white Toyota Utility and drove away along Scottsdale Drive. The Toyota has Western Australian registration 1EPJ988, and anyone with information about the man or the vehicle is urged to contact police.

TWO LEFT WITH KNIFE WOUNDS AFTER GOLD COAST BRAWL

An altercation between two groups of men on the Gold Coast overnight has left two men in hospital with knife wounds. A group of five men were approached by another group of males around 2am on the Esplanade in Surfers Paradise. Two men, aged 25 and 30, suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
