MAN DIES AFTER JET SKI ACCIDENT

A 50-year-old man has died following a tragic jetski accident on the Central Coast this afternoon. Emergency services were called to Chittaway Point, near Gosford just before three o’clock. It’s believed the man suffered critical head injuries in a fall from a jetski, and couldn’t be revived despite receiving immediate first aid at the scene. Witness have told NBN News they heard a woman screaming for help shortly before emergency services arrived. A report will be prepared for the Coroner. (VISION ONLY)

FORTNIGHTLY MEETINGS ON THE AGENDA

Central Coast Council could meet more than once a month in the near future. A proposal to make meetings fortnightly will be placed on public exhibition next week. Mayor Jane Smith says meetings are currently running into the early hours of the morning, due to the large number of agenda items. “I think it just makes sense to divide that workload in half so that we have shorter meetings…that will just make the decision making flow a lot more easily.” The council oversees a population of more than 335,000 people. CHURCHLEADERS RELEASED AFTER MANUS PROTEST

The Archdeacon of the Central Coast has been released from custody after he and four fellow churchleaders chained themselves to the gates of Kirribilli House last night. The group held up signs in protest over the treatment of refugees on Manus Island…calling for the closure of offshore detention centres. Father Rod Bower says while they were arrested, no charges have been laid. (no audio)
