GAV’S WEATHER – MORE HEAT TO COME

Another extremely hot day is on the way as the weak change moves in across southern NSW triggering rain and storms. Some of that storm activity will affect the Greater Hunter region and the southern areas of the north-west around Tamworth to the New England ranges tomorrow afternoon and into the evening. So more 40 degree max temps widespread inland. Afternoon storms developing for the Greater Hunter, southern areas of the north-west around Tamworth and the adjacent New England ranges.

GAV’S WEATHER – ABSOLUTE SCORCHER

The front moving across the south-east has some cold air in it, so temperatures are set to drop by up to 20 degrees for parts of Victoria tonight. As the front approaches the local region, things will only get hotter and windier. A total fire ban has been issued for the north-west and Greater Hunter regions. The change will move across our region overnight Wednesday into Thursday delivering some much needed relief along with some wet weather.

GAV’S WEATHER – LONG HOT RUN AHEAD

The next weather system is moving in over the south-east. That change will reach the Central Coast and Hunter early tomorrow morning. We are in for a hot night tonight. The weak southerly change won’t make it past the Mid-North Coast. It also isn’t strong enough to clear the heat inland, so the hot weather will continue into next week.

GAV’S WEATHER – WEAK CHANGE FOR THE WEEKEND

The next weather system is moving in over the region. There isn’t much to it with conditions clearing quickly behind it. This front will now begin to move over the Tasman from tomorrow but a trough will be left behind. This will return the inclement weather to north-east NSW and south-east Queensland for the weekend. So the Hunter takes another short break from the heat. It will rebuild as we move through next week.

GAV’S WEATHER – CLOUDY COAST

Some big rain over south-east Queensland and north-east NSW today. That will clear by tomorrow. The cloud will linger and a burst of afternoon showers will push in over coastal communities to the eastern slopes and ranges during the afternoon. The shower activity will completely burn off as we move through the middle later part of the week with summer temperatures of around 30 degrees returning to most locations off the Tablelands from Thursday.

GAV’S WEATHER – WET WEEK AHEAD

The wave of cloud is passing over the region delivering the first bout of rain. A large surge of tropical moisture is now building across Central Northern Australia. Today’s front will clear overnight but the next one will slowly move in to take its place, after delivering widespread rain across the nations heartland. So as one weather event clears another will take its place. It is going to be a cloudy wet week with solid inland rain totals on the way.
