GAV’S WEATHER: A SLIGHT SHIFT IN THE WEATHER MOVING IN

Cloud and showers engulfed the Central Coast and Newcastle this afternoon. Fine and sunny elsewhere around the region. The cloud moving in over parts of the Central Coast and Hunter tonight will move up the coast as the southerly winds kick in. So the southerly winds will freshen along the coast and cloud spread further north along with the isolated showers. Remaining fine inland.

GAV’S WEATHER – MORE COLD WEATHER IS ON THE WAY

A large low is spiraling around in the Bight. That helped increase the cloud locally. It remains clear across the northern half of the country. The low will make its way across the South-East slowly tomorrow. Some much need natural snow will fall on the Alpine regions of NSW and Victoria. The cold winter weather will continue as we move into the first week of July with icy westerly winds and overnight showers mostly clearing tomorrow. The Northern Rivers and Gold coast will be quite mild ahead, with the icy blast to drop temperatures for all during the second half of the week

GAV’S WEATHER – ICY COLD BUT CLEAR THIS WEEKEND

Two main features the rain band and associated front has cleared from the region moving out over the Tasman forcing cold, dry air over eastern Australia. Another front is sweeping in across the south-west tonight. The majority of the nation is clear so the driest start to winter on record continues for much of southern Australia. A high will move in over the region making for a fine sunny weekend with extremely cold nights and chilly clear blue sky days. A large swell will hit the coast as a low begins to move into the Bight. So expect a freezing start for many especially inland with severe frosts. Clear blue skies will dominate as the winds ease.

THE CLOUD HAS ROLLED IN AND A BLAST OF COLD AIR ON THE WAY

The main feature is the moisture being drawn in across central Australia sweeping across the region today. That cloud cover is making for a cold winters day. That cloud band will produce widespread light rain across NSW tomorrow. Remaining fine for north-east NSW and the Gold Coast. A number of fronts will sweep in across the south-east making for some very cold times ahead.
